street fighter lore from another dimension!

remember how i talked about non-UDON comics before? (18+ article) well, i figure that it's about time that i actually talk about the UDON comics for street fighter-though i thought about it for a moment because i thought that due to them being well-known they couldn't exactly fit into this site, but if i covered every film and show and comic about this franchize-i think it's fair game. besides, there ARE interesting things in this that are worth looking at in this website. consider this a another weird good morning shadaloo article, in a site about weird things. regardless of which, here's:

street fighter (2003)

a simple SF2 adaption. more to the pile! the usual two-plot story of ryu's struggle with himself and him going on a path of self-improvement happening alongside a G.I. joe-esque plot to stop a evil organization including it's leader only for all of it to cross into a tournament, of course ending in one of the many deaths of the leader. UDON's telling of this tried and true tale [or myth at this rate due to how ingrained SF2 is in pop culture] opens with a narration of a speech gouken gives to ryu which is a cute detail, but it's just a simple dream sequence since evil ryu is there [which is a very real thing abliet non-canonical [technically]], only for ryu to wake up to gouken screaming his name and finding that his master-his father-has died by the hands of a certain someone.

shown above: street fighter, working that T-rating since the moment after that U.S. senate hearing on 1993.

aside from that tasteful opening, the comic just goes as usual, it's just that it includes some street fighter alpha elements [and a cameo from yun and yang despite the fact that realistically this would be in the 90's]-ken and ryu spar and chill, ryu ponders, guile remnisces, chun-li hunts, some racially questionable depictions of black folks, a little bit of a racially questionable depiction of a chinese resturaunt owner [which is weird because i'm sure some of the guys working at UDON are asian-american i think], and this time-the dolls spy. this also contains a oddball short story where bison oversees the tournament where sagat nearly got killed...which makes no sense because what actually happend was after sagat was mortally wounded, bison came to him first, and bison didn't know who the fuck ryu was until he felt a massive surge of satsui no hado from him and decided that he should hunt him for his body. also, the short story about cammy-killer bee by then-sparring with vega felt...ogle-y because of how the artist drew cammy. did we need to see her cameltoe and nipples? i get that she's attractive looking, but damn. and charlie nash being here all brainwashed by shadaloo and shit is also weird when put against the actual story canon because he's been dead until he was taken by the illuminati, but i get the choice for the story. also, bison didn't kill chun-li's father outright but rather kidnapped him to let him be used as a training dummy for the dolls, which is par for the course for such a man like bison. also, cursed image of akuma without his Giant Beaded Necklace and bison on da computer. and rose is the one who sent off cammy to the british embassy. how nice of her.

also, juni with her unrealistic flipphone managing to show live footage from bison despite the fact that no phone that wasn't a japanese one at the time could do that. but it could be just shadaloo tech. also, the second time vega fought someone in a bedroom.

this would be the end of that, but this comic got a continuation. wanna know what it's called?

street fighter II (2005) and street fighter II turbo (2008)

a original title. after the artistic [and also inspired by a certain batman comic it seems] flashback of when akuma killed gouken, the comic cuts to a another flashback of M. bison massacring a romani community that he was adopted into. i've mentioned that before in the non-UDON comics article, but when i say it i mean it.

also, something that i must point out that is a tad off-topic: so, street fighter has had a history of sexualizing/putting the female characters in a ogle-y light [like i commented on before with cammy's cammytoe], but in terms of what characters we have seen nude the most throughout the series-i think the awnser isn't even the women-it's probably a tie between cammy and bison, though i think i need to check my numbers on that and i believe bison gets 4 or 5 [implied, in a non-UDON comic] times due to the UDON comics-but it's fairly funny that we got all of this horny content and then the top characters that were nude the most are a father-daughter duo. also, the most funniest detail that i forgot about while going through the comics for this again is that bison wakes up nude only to launch a satellite laser that destroys the pacific just to launch a ad for his tournament. without dressing first.

aside from that, the dolls sieg heiling.

and a tiny error where they forgot to draw bison's shoulder pads.

this comic is also where they FINALLY get to the tournament bit of SF2-most SF2 adaptions don't even do that. also, a couple of SF4 characters are in this comic despite the fact that SF4 is after SF2. it's probably that SF4 released in 2008. also, cody is transphobic to poison.

there's also some 'legends' comics they made, such as the chun-li one where shadaloo plots to steal the terracotta soldiers only for chun-li to swiftly stop them [better plot than the actual legends of chun-li film], the sakura one where it's just her bumming around with friends, the cammy one where her past still keeps fucking haunting her [and also another cammytoe in one of the covers, and SFV bison [♡ [but also one funny as fuck thing that happens with him is that F.A.N.G. revives bison, right-but he comes out of the tube fully clothed]], and a ibuki one which is just her fucking around doing double-life stuff. there's also the lives and deaths [life and deaths actually but it's more accurately that] of charlie nash, a book released to go with SFV, which is a general biography of charlie nash that's super interesting to look through [and also thank god that they atleast made it so that charlie nash IS controlled by the illuminati], and a entire fucking darkstalkers crossover. with laura being attracted to the merman. there's also some compilation books like street fighter super combo special [which is SF4 stuff] or street fighter one-shots wherein akuma solos hell [and also gen who's also in hell] and gets sent back to earth as ALMOST his SF6 design, a menat one where menat does menat things [it also features old man SFV bison ♡♡♡ though they took it one step further with him killing a romani community and made him racist too], necro and effie where it's just them dating and being a power couple, and wrestlepalooza where it's what it says on the tin but also psycho power steroids exist, which i also mentioned before.

there's also super street fighter, with a story about the illuminati taunting guile and co. with twelve disguising as bison, a match between balrog and dudley, a brief refresher on juri's backstory, and a entire story dedicated to dan, which makes it 10/10 automatically.

other such amazing moments in the UDON street fighter comics range from balrog declaring that he will fuck ken masters's mother, vega [who's secretly a cum monster] donning bison's uniform as the new leader [vega takes vega's place] only for him to have the same fucking chamber room from the live action street fighter film, gill hosting a ted talk, and the rare urban akuma [as seen in street fighter origins: akuma].

there's far more out there but this is all i could find online. give these a spin! UDON also worked on two capcom releases and produces official pin-up magazines for capcom...if you wanted to know that.
