take your ryu on the go!

ah, the sony playstation. before it became a slab that plays nothing, it was a slab that played something. one of these things is street fighter alpha 3. another thing the PS1 had is like 5,000 pheripherals like a good console should, but it also had one that stood amongst the rest: the pocketstation. it's the dreamcast's VMU basically, and this happens to be compatible with it. the main function of this thing when it comes to this game? you can take whatever character you wish and put it into the pheripheral and basically edit them in the thing to make them even stronger. what matters out of everything? the sprites. they are so fucking adorable. go my little army. crush all those who dare to be mean to me.

normally that would be the end of what would otherwise be a small article, but i have one more thing to say related to this: i actually want to buy the pocketstation, a PS1, and a copy of street fighter alpha 3 just to test and document what this actually does to the fighters. y'know, fun semantics about how much this actually affects the fighters especially considering that iirc, the game already has a mode where you literally do the exact thing just without the pocketstation, maybe even test the pocketstation on that mode. something in the far, far future when i have money.
