the street fighter animated film's timeless and still one of the best animated films to come out of japan, but like any good film, this got a licensed game adaption.
shown above: the only indicator that this is actually a game is that playstation logo.
the catch with this little game is that you're not playing, say, the white gi fellow in almost the center of the cover that you see everywhere in anything relating to this series, or maybe that chinese woman, or anyone as there's no roster at all in this game...instead, you're playing as this thing.
shown above: do i need to explain?
instead, you're playing as a cyborg made to scout, spy, and peep on fighters all over the world for their data. you don't even fight in this game for the majority of it, infact: the main task at hand is to watch the entire movie while pressing buttons while taking care of your given cyborg friend and seeing how well it's doing by pitting it against a hologram of ryu to see how capable it is. the game DOES reward you a fight against the real ryu in the end, but functionally it's just you playing as ken against a ryu CPU. what's actually interesting about this game is the cutscenes and that you can get endings depending on how well you play. either you betray bison, or he wins but then gets bumrushed to death by a leaping ryu, or i don't even know the third one because this game is a bit hard to look up footage of to confirm things because it also shares a similar name to the E-rated mortal kombat game released in the coming year.
